Another plus for me is that I will have a huge following here in my home town. Brazilian people love Formula 1, love motor racing and it is really big passion for them. I really like to race at home and I think I race better at home. Do I need to say I'm very motivated?! I love this track, I grew up here and I know all its little tricks and secrets. I first raced here when I was eight years old in a go-kart, as the karting track is inside the circuit complex.

The Ferrari driver now appears an outside bet for the title after Lewis Hamilton's victory in Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix afforded the McLaren Mercedes driver a seven-point lead with only next weekend's race remaining. But Sao Paulo native Massa, who became interested in motor racing as a boy after delivering pizzas to the local Interlagos track, still hopes to become the first Brazilian to become World Champion since Ayrton Senna claimed the last of his three titles in 1991.

GENEVA: FIA and the 10 Formula One teams reached a deal on Tuesday to cap the cost of engines supplied to smaller teams as part of a plan to save money during the global financial crisis. Clearly, Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone couldn't care less about racing in North America. One year after nixing the U.S. Grand Prix at Indianapolis, Ecclestone has tossed out the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, the only North American race F1 had left. Some reports claim Montreal race officials owed Ecclestone $10 million. If so, Ecclestone wasn't offering a bailout.

THE historic symmetry would have been almost too neat. On the 50th anniversary of Mike Hawthorn's consecration as the first British driver to win the Formula One world title, Lewis Hamilton did everything within his power to become the ninth. He dominated the Chinese Grand Prix from start to finish, but arch rival Felipe Massa's second place means the McLaren driver needs four points to be sure of the prize that slipped through his fingers in 2007.

Despite putting paid to his drivers title chances, being some 19 points behind leader Hamilton has enjoyed an excellent season. Greenslade is happy to talk about Hamilton, but, like many other townsfolk, she is fed up with him being criticised. As long as it's nice, she says, we don't want anyone slagging off our Lewis. People here love the fact that somebody as famous as he is, is from the back of beyond because, unfortunately, Stevenage does have a reputation as a bit of a hole. So it's great to have someone as classy as he is representing us.
