Okay, so let me get this straight. It's not okay for, say, Rubens Barrichello to slam on the brakes a hundred yards from the checkered flag so that his teammate, Michael Schumacher, can pass him and win the race, as happened at the Grand Prix of Austria in 2001. It's not okay to do that . . . read more »

Montezemolo hopes for late title effort Posted 23 October 2008 at 06:42 GMT Despite a mixed season for the famous Scuderia, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo said Brazil could be the scene of a "penalty kick in the ninetieth minute". Felipe Massa is 7 points behind McLaren's Lewis Hamilton with just the Interlagos race to go, meaning even a Ferrari one-two might not be enough to defend the team's 2007 title. read more »

A similar, if not identical, incident took place earlier this season, in fact, when McLaren s Finn put up little resistance to Hamilton at the German Grand Prix. read more »

Here is how the points system works. For a win, the winner gets ten points; second place, eight points; third place, six points; fourth place, five points; fifth place, four points; sixth place, three points; seventh place, two points; and, eighth place, one point. As it stands, Hamilton and Massa are the only two drivers in the race for the championship. If Massa wins the final F1 in Brazil, Hamilton will need to place no lower than fifth (to collect four points) to win the championship. read more »
